How do you treat your money? Do you treat it like the tool that it is? Or something more...
Do you control your money? Or does your money control you...
It's very important for you to realize that if you take proper care of your money, your money will take care of you.
If you abuse it, have greed and lust for it, or misuse it - you'll spend your entire life chasing it.
Don't do anything JUST for money. Don't ever NOT do something JUST because of money. I watch most people in my life being completely controlled by their country's currency. It's madness! They live pay-cheque to pay-cheque worrying about how little they have. They complain that there's never enough, and wish that "they were rich". They grossly misuse it and treat it like it's something special. And worse; they desperately try to hoard it, in hopes of not running out...
Most people are completely controlled by money and they don't even know it. They work a job they hate FOR MONEY. They sell things they love FOR MONEY. They stay home in an effort to SAVE MONEY. They argue and fight with their spouses OVER MONEY. They drive around looking for better deals, wasting hours, just to save an insignificant amount OF MONEY. You need to stop and ask yourself right now; "Does money control me?"
It is possible to use money as it was intended; a tool. A measure of buying power, a place to store wealth, a device to purchase goods and services. Money is nothing more, and yet we've allowed ourselves as a society to LOVE IT. We really do love it. The term "The love of money is the root of all evil" is not only completely accurate, but it's so applicable in our society today.
Successful business people have learned to properly take care of their money. They know how to make it, manage it, leverage it and use it to their advantage. They use it as a tool to grow their business, their wealth and their well-being - their quality of life is high, because they properly exchanged the dollars they have for a good life.
Money is not what you should seek - the things it can give you is what you should be after. We need money, it is very much a necessity, HOWEVER it is no more a necessity than the other tools we use and depend on. So don't put it up on a pedestal.
